Rain is just confetti from the sky

Hello!  I hope everyone is doing well and is super pumped for warmer weather this week!  We sure are - I can't believe this winter!  I've never experienced anything like this before.  Sure, we have had gloomy days and on and off rain but nothing like this constant hard rain!!  Next week is supposed to reach the 70's a couple times and I cannot wait.  Enjoy!!

We had a great Easter with family and couldn't have asked for better weather.  Natalie has declared that Easter is her favorite holiday because of the easter eggs!  The Easter bunny hopped to our house and left some treats for the kids.  Natalie received hot pink flowers and Cameron got a chocolate bunny - they couldn't believe how well the bunny knew them!  After a fun morning around the house, we drove up to my Aunt Lisa and Uncle Danny's house and celebrated Easter with the fam.  Once again, delicious brunch, great company and the kids had such a great time.  So relaxing!  Thank you again Aunt Lisa and Uncle Danny.  After brunch, we headed over to Ryan's parents for a visit.  The kids had another egg hunt and had fun - Thank you Marc and Cindee.

Both kids are doing really well and are fully enjoying school and activities/sports.  Cameron is loving baseball this year (Pony ball) and is doing really well at hitting the ball when it is pitched to him.  The team is still finding themselves in terms of fielding and communicating with each other but with every game, they are improving.  The Blue Hawks are kids between the ages of 4 and 6 - some have been playing for a couple years and others have never played before.  It's fun to see the kids starting to become confident with their abilities.  I'm so proud of how much pride Cameron takes with baseball.  It is a big commitment (3 days a week) and the hours are a little off (games/practices around dinner and bedtime) but seeing how much he loves it makes it worth it.  Cameron is also lucky because his dad is assistant coaching!  Ryan is such an involved dad and loves to help and be around his kids.  Natalie and Cameron are sooooo lucky!

Cameron is also loving school and can't wait to go.  He is learning so much this year and is beyond ready for Kindergarten!  I'm still a little nervous about him being away from me all day next year, but I think WE will adjust quickly.  This week, we will be attending his Kindergarten orientation - all the information about the school year, activities and more.  We are all looking forward to it.

Cam has moved up in swimming and is now working on his endurance.  I can't believe how well he is doing and is absolutely fearless around water.  I feel confident that he can swim to the edge of water if he falls in with no problem.  We will continue swimming lessons for a few more months and then decide if we want him to attend during the summer.

Natalie is doing AMAZING!!  She definitely loves school and all her classmates and cannot wait to go.  Fridays are a little challenging for her because Cameron gets to go to school, but she has to go to the gym with Mommy instead.  She doesn't understand why she can't go : (    Nat has only been in school for 4 months yet she can already spell her name, write her name, knows the class' zoophonics song and more.  She has dominated catching up with the other kids and you would never know she didn't start in September.  I'm so proud of my smart girl.

Nat is also loving Dance class and is showing HUGE improve from last session!  She can now complete whatever Ms Alex asks her to do - of course with a giant smile.  This class has definitely increased her confidence and she seems so grown up now.  I love to watch her in her element

Nattie is also doing swimming again this session.  Last session didn't go as well as the session before unfortunately.  I think it was because of her double ear infection - it basically set her back weeks in terms of confidence and drive.  Saturday was her first class this session and she seemed super happy and willing to try everything.  I hope it continues!!

Both kids are thriving this month and continue to amaze me.  They are both so loving and happy!  This month was a big lesson on speaking up for yourself and making positive decisions.  It is definitely a skill that has to be learned at a young age and I want my kids to be confident with themselves.  My babies are extremely trusting and sweet kids, that really want to make everyone happy around them.  I don't want their kindness to be mistaken for weakness.  This month, I worked hard with Cameron on speaking up for himself.  He understands that he has to be kind but also do whats best for him.  Stay tuned!!

A couple weeks ago, sweet little Basil had to have surgery.  She was diagnosed with bladder stones in late January and we have tried EVERYTHING to resolve them.  Unfortunately nothing worked and the last option was surgery.  Luckily, Basil did AMAZING and feels so much better.  The vet tech showed me the stones after surgery and I could not believe my eyes.  She had 6 stones that were the size of large marble!!  Apparently the stones were taking up 90% of her bladder - poor thing!  Now she is a completely different dog and is finally relaxing and enjoying her life!  Lola was apparently jealous because now she is struggling!! Lola is having a hard time walking up and down the stairs and seems to be moving a little slower than usual.  I'm trying my best to carry her up and down to help her if she is struggling.  She doesn't appear to be in pain but something is going on.  I'm hoping she will be feeling better soon - life isn't the same without our happy, spunky LOLA!

Ryan and I are doing well.  Ry is super busy with work and is rocking home projects with a smile.  We are 99% finished with our new backyard and we couldn't be happier with the results!  Ryan will be going out of town next week for work and I don't know what I'm going to do without him!  He is my best friend and the kids adore him.  It will be a long 5 days without him.  I've decided to do another Whole 30 but this time with my dear friend Malin.  I hope I can be helpful to her and provide her good tips!

Also, just an FYI, I decided to take a break from facebook.  I only check it once a month when I post my blog.  I feel like a lot of people have become extremely negative and toxic and I don't want to engage right now.  Sorry if I've missed anything!!

HUGS!!
