Bloom Baby Bloom!

Hi everyone!  Spring is trying so hard to bloom at the end of March.  I can't believe how much rain and gloom there has been since September!  Apparently there has only been a handful of sunny days since the beginning of October and everyone is Vitamin D deficient!  I hope Spring makes an appearance soon as we are all stir crazy with cabin fever.  With Spring comes baseball season and we are already pretty far behind with Cameron's practices!  Hopefully the rain will curb for a while!

Cameron started Pony Ball this season!  He is so excited to play "Big boy baseball" and I think this is going to be a perfect fit for him.  In Pony Ball, the coach pitches the ball to the players instead of the batters hitting it off of a tee.  If the player has a hard time hitting the ball after several attempts, the coach sets up the tee for the player.  It's a perfect scenario for this age (5-6 years).  This season, Cameron has games twice a week and a practice - that means there is baseball 3 times a week!  Ryan is amazing and has volunteered to be the assistant coach.  Cameron is thrilled because Ryan has coached every sport since he started.  I'm so happy Ryan is so involved with Cameron's sports and both kids activities.  He is a great dad.

Speaking of Ryan being a great dad, he spoiled Natalie this month by taking her to the Father Daughter Dance!  The dance was at Tahoma High School and the theme was Seahawks.  Of course Natalie picked a beautiful pink and coral dress with a tiny crown clip for her hair!  Daddy wore his nice suit with his Seahawks jersey under his jacket.  They both looked amazing and had a great time and Nat is still talking about it like it was last night.  Daddy surprised her by giving her a little flower for her wrist - HEAVEN!!

On top of baseball, both kids are also enrolled in swimming lessons once a week.  Cameron is a serious fish!  He is the youngest swimmer in his class by several years (smallest too) yet he has no problem executing the techniques the instructor is requiring!  He can now swim to the center of the pool and back with no help (instructor or floaties!)  Cam looks forward to swimming every week and still thrives on schedules and routine.  Natalie also looks forward to swimming but had a very hard time this session so far.  Sadly, Nat got sick the beginning of March and it settled into her ears.  She experienced her first ear infection and it was a doozy - a double ear infection!!  Because of this, it created a set back in swimming (I don't blame her).  She still loves to get into the water and try most things but now puts up a fuss with certain activities.  Natalie is a strong little girl and will push through this!  She loves her instructor (Coach Kathy) and her best friend at swim, Emma.

Natalie is also enrolled in dance class and just completed her first session on Thursday!  She absolutely LOVED every second of it!  She met a couple friends and so did Cameron and myself!  We registered again for the class in the Spring and can't wait to start!  In a couple short months, Nat learned so much and has such confidence with herself.  I think individual activities such as dance and swim are perfect for her because she is sensitive and free spirited.  She seems to be thriving and it makes me so happy to see.

Both kids are still rocking at school and can't wait to attend.  I was super nervous about putting Natalie in school so late this year but I know we have made the best choice.  In the last couple months, Nat is now singing all the class songs perfectly, the alphabet, numbers and is even spelling a little!  She has figured out how to spell her name and now we have "N" on everything we own!  She is amazing at coloring inside the lines and has started to draw her own people and animals.  I'm amazed at her progress and owe a lot of it to Ms Melissa at school.  She is so patient with all the kids and Natalie always feels positive after school.

Cameron is also doing great and I feel like he is ready to start kindergarten academically.  Ms Keely is an amazing teacher and gives all her students confidence to be themselves.  She also has been sooooo supportive to the parents!  I have no idea what I am doing and she gives ME the confidence to be a proactive parent.  THANK YOU KEELY!  While Cameron is doing well in school, he still needs to work on standing up for himself and to not be so shy and accommodating to other kids.  The last thing I want for my baby is to be a follower.  He is making a lot of improvement and is trying hard.  This will take time and I'm happy he has the opportunity to work on this skill in a safe environment at Keely's preschool.

Both kids are doing amazing and growing like weeds this month!  Nat and Cam have both grown at least 2 inches and gained a couple pounds!  This morning alone, they each had 4 waffles!  This is their first major preschool growth spurt - not just physically but emotionally.  Both seem older this month!  I'm one proud mama.

The kids had their very first pet sitting job this month!  Cindy and Doug went to Arizona for Spring training and needed the kids to look after their bird, Makani.  The kids had such a great time caring for him!  They went down everyday to water him, feed him and of course sing to him because they didn't want him to feel lonely.  It was a great experience for them to care for someone else's pet and watch over their house.  Cameron would check the backyard and the front to make sure everything was ok!  Hopefully they will be asked again to watch over Makani : )  Thank you TuTu and Dougie for making the kids feel important!

Our house is coming along so well!  In the next month, we are going to be painting our kitchen cabinets a beautiful light grey color (Thank you RC for helping me!!!!) and redoing our backyard.  Ryan is currently taking a section of our giant party deck down to make room for small yard.  We are planting some beautiful trees and plants and lastly grass for the girls!  We are so excited to make this house our home!  It has been a lot of work in the last 7 months but looking at the before and after is amazing.  It is a completely different house!!  Stay tuned for photos soon.

Since the beginning of February, sweet Basil has been pretty sick.  After several vet appointments, we discovered that she has several large bladder stones.  The stones have caused a Staph infection inside her bladder (since resolved) and causes her to frequently urinate.  Sadly, most times her urine has blood in it and she strains to go.  We feel so bad for her!!!!  After putting her on antibiotics and a special diet for a month in hopes the stone will dissolve, no progress has been made.  The last treatment for B is surgery, which is scheduled for the 4th.  I'm sharing this in hopes that everyone can put out good vibes for her on Tuesday.  She is a tough little mama and will heal!  She is our little baby and a HUGE part of our family.  Loving thoughts please!

I hope everyone has a great month and I look forward to seeing more sun!!  Hugs!
