We had an excellent October that was as busy as our summer was! I think November will be a little less busy and we will have more down time - which is deeply needed. October was filled with playgroups, school, parties, soccer, speech therapy and football games. Fall is definitely our favorite time of year!
Cam is thriving. He is enjoying school so much that he gets sad when he has to leave. He has such a great time with his new friends (Jackson, Ella, Ivy and Avery) and adores his teacher, Ms Melissa, and teacher assistant, Ms Dana. He is constantly bringing home wonderful crafts and activities that they do in class and he is extremely proud of his work. I need to figure out a way of saving this items and incorporate them into a scrapbook or something. I can already see his abilities progressing and getting better - and it has only been a month!! I was very sad at first when Cam started school. I didn't want to share him with anyone and wanted him with me at all times. Now, I'm so excited for him to try new things and have new friends. Cammie had his first Halloween Party at school on the 29th! He had such a great time and all the kids looked amazing!!
By the end of the soccer season, Cam was LOVING it!! His second to last game was his best - he scored 3 goals and was very aggressive! I was so proud and couldn't stop cheering and jumping around! He was super disappointed when the season was over because he was finally getting into it. I guess he will be playing soccer next year after all! The Blue Thunder team celebrated their awesome season by enjoying a party at "The Nutty Squirrel" It is a super cute gelato shop in Maple Valley. The kids had a blast and got cool trophies - and a ton of gelato! Nattie wanted the bubblegum gelato and didn't stop until the bowl was licked clean! And of course Cammie wanted Chocolate! We are taking a little break from sports until next year - with the exception of swimming. It will be nice to not have weekly commitments.
Cam is absolutely OBSESSED with the Garbage Man! He loves to do the recycling, pull weeds for the yard waste and of course empty all the small garbage cans around the house into the outside bin. He cannot get enough of it! He currently has 6 garbage trucks (all different) and plays with them all day. For Halloween, Cam decided he wanted to be a Garbage Man. Thinking of ways to make his costume, I decided to contact Waste Management to see if they had some stickers. Laura, one of our local Waste Management managers, replied to my email and said that they could do a lot better than stickers. Laura arranged a meet and greet with our Garbage Man, Al! When the day came, Cameron was beside himself with excitement! We raced home from school, ate lunch as fast as we could and took a quick nap. Both kids waited out front for Al until he and Laura showed up. Cameron was able to sit up in the cab of the truck, take pictures and even honk the big horn! Laura gave Cam a giant dufflebag full of Waste Management swag for his costume! Then to top it all off, Al gave Cam a new garbage truck! He was so excited and couldn't believe this was happening to him! THANK YOU GUYS!!
Cammie has transitioned into a preschooler through and through. He loves anything Superhero (Captain America, Ironman, Spiderman, Thor, Hulk), anything StarWars and anything Ninja Turtle. Note, he has never even seen these shows! Ryan and I decided it is a little too violent for a 3 year old. We don't mind if he plays with the action figures, but we agreed that we would wait a while before watching it. Cameron is very excited because on his 4th birthday, we are going to let him watch StarWars!! He can't wait and is wishing hard for his birthday to come! Such a sweet little guy : )
Natalie is doing so well with speech therapy and we are very pleased with her progress! You can tell that she is happy that she can now get her needs met faster and that we understand what she wants/talking about. Don't get me wrong, she still has hard days but who doesn't? Her current speech therapy plan is one on one Speech Therapy home sessions every other Wednesdsay mornings with Ms Larisa, coupled with group playgroup every Friday (Movin and Groovin). This has been wonderful for Nat because she struggles with moving and transitioning from activity to activity. Nattie doesn't like to be told what to do and likes to go at her own pace. The Movin and Groovin class shows her that other kids also struggle with transitions but their is always more fun if they comply. We are so grateful for Children's Therapy Center!!
Nattie really has an adorable personality and is very silly! She is always trying to make people laugh and get a smile out of you. Her favorite thing to do right now is dancing and she is even trying to sing songs! She has her favorite songs, but she will dance to anything - anytime, anywhere! I'm very happy that she is so independent and free spirited. I will admit that sometimes it is challenging and takes twice as long, but I'm glad my baby girl doesn't follow. She definitely marches to the beat of her own drum.
Nat's also loves StarWars and can't get enough of Yoda or Stormtroopers! She is also into Hello Kitty now and still LOVES Minnie and Toy Story. I have to admit that I am so relieved she isn't into Princesses. I would be fine if she was, but the Feminist side of me is happy : ) She doesn't need a prince to save her - she can save a prince!! hehe
Both kids are thriving and we are incredibly lucky that they are both healthy and happy. We are very much looking forward to the upcoming Holidays and cannot wait to make more memories. Seeing my kids happy is the best feeling in the world and makes me feel like I'm doing a good job. Being a parent is extremely hard but very rewarding. We love you so much Cammie and Nattie!!
Hugs!!
Some of these pictures might be repeated, I was having a hard time organizing them with a screaming toddler who doesn't want to nap : (
