Hi Everyone!
I hope everyone is happy and healthy - this cold and flu season is never ending!! I hope April puts an end to these sicknesses! On top of colds, allergies are crazy this year! I guess we have to pay a price for this beautiful weather and amazing color explosion of trees and flowers. DEAL!
March was extremely busy for our family this month and it is beginning to feel like the norm. We function pretty well on "CRAZY BUSY" and enjoy our few moments of down time. I'm still working out three times a week, Cammie is still doing swim lessons every Saturday morning and will be starting Tee Ball very shortly, playdates, family visits, parties and more!
The kids are at a very fun age right now because they are both completely mobile, somewhat independent, interested in the same activities, napping at the same schedule and generally extremely happy. They have been playing together pretty well, of course they have their moments of not wanting to share but mostly they are great friends. As the weather is getting nicer, we are outside a lot more and enjoying every minute of it. We recently started walking the neighborhood without a stroller!! Both kids walk the whole way (being picked up a couple times) and always hold hands. Cammie always grabs her hand first but Nattie cannot get enough of the attention. Both kids go to the neighborhood park and go down the slides by themselves - it feels so weird sitting on the sidelines and watch them. I'm extremely proud of them and love when they are independent.
Cam is doing amazing. He is such a bright and compassionate boy and I couldn't be any more proud of him. His vocab is insane!! Daily, he comes up with the craziest stories, funny sayings or jokes. Today he called me outside to the sandbox and held his hands out and said, "BEHOLD!!" I have no idea where he got that! Cammie is clearly going through a growth spurt and is eating me out of house and home!! This kid is packing food away! He is very vocal about what he wants to eat and how much.
A strange thing happened to Cam this month and I still don't understand why it occurred. For the last month, Cammie has been terrified of smoke detectors. He has never heard one go off in our house before but he is extremely scared of the thought of it going off. He was so scared that he was getting up every hour for about three weeks. Lots of crying, whining, demanding and because of this, many sleepless nights for all of us. It is hard to be mad at him because he is genuinely petrified. We came up with the idea of taking him to the firestation to speak with a firefighter regarding his fear. I took him to the Covington Firehouse and the Chief explained to him that nothing is going to happen and he shouldn't be scared. After we left, I asked him how he felt - he didn't feel any better. I decided to take him to the Maple Valley Firehouse. They got down to his level and started by asking him questions. By the time we were finished, Cammie was holding a smoke detector, had one go off, both kids drove in the drivers seat of the firetruck and had countless items to take home!! After I put them into the car, Cam squealed that he felt much better and isn't scared anymore!! Every night since then, he has slept in his own bed alllllll night (knock on wood!) My poor sweet baby is finally feeling secure!
Cammie is becoming such a fun preschooler. I look forward to spending every day with him and can't get enough of his attention and affection! I feel like the older he gets more and more affectionate and cuddly. I love him so!! Here are his favorite things this month:
- Curious George
- Mighty Machines
- Peanutbutter and Jelly
- Sandbox
- Mommy
- Red
- Bubbles
Oh my sweet Nattie girl. She is so spicy and sweet and I can't get enough of her!! She is definitely showing her personality and lets it be known when she wants something or doesn't like it! She is still taking her time talking and only says a couple of things. Things are going ok 99% of the time because she is starting to take me to things she wants or brings them to me. It is becoming rare that she throws a fit over not being understood. Nat is such a happy girl and loves to dance and make us laugh. She is still a champion when it comes to eating and is attempting to eat almost everything that I make for her. Her favorite right now is definitely waffles and watermelon!
Unfortunately we didn't get Nattie signed up for swim lessons in time - so disappointed. We are making the best of it and reserve the time Cam is swimming for "Special one on one" time with her. Her absolute favorite activity right now is coloring. She loves drawing, coloring in books, just holding crayons! She is the cutest and even lays on her tummy and draws. It melts me!! Natalie is a great sleeper and napper - she is my perfect little miss. I couldn't imagine my life without her. I absolutely adore Nattie!! Here are some of her favorite things this month:
- Watermelon
- Coloring
- Toy Story
- Copying Cammie
- Her Lovie
- Basil and Loey
- Going for walks
To wrap up the blog, here are the pictures! Hugs!
