I cannot believe that Cameron is 6 years old today!!!!!!! I know it sounds cliche but I feel like he was just born. I have been totally fine with every birthday Cam has had so far, but I'm having a hard time with 6. He is definitely not a baby anymore. Or a toddler. Or a preschooler. He is a kid. A sweet, sensitive, intelligent and funny KID. These last 6 years have been amazing. Cameron is such a bright star in my life (all of our lives) and I can't imagine not having him. I am so thankful that I have had the opportunity to stay at home with my kids and experience all of his firsts. Now that he is in school full time, I get less time during the day with him. I absolutely cherish all of our special moments together. I am beyond blessed to be his mama. I love you Cam Bam!
We had such an amazing month in December! Usually I'm not into Christmas time because it is materialist and overwhelming to me. Something was different this year. I had a chance to spend a lot of quality time with the ones we love and my kids truly understand the meaning of giving and not receiving. Christmas morning, the kids wanted Ryan and I to open our presents from them before anything else. I was so touched and made me feel like a proud mama.
Right before Christmas break, Cameron attended his very first class field trip - and I was lucky enough to be a chaperone! We took 20 kindergarteners (100 in total!) down to the Seattle Children's Museum at the Seattle Center. We rode the bus down there (with was hard - as many of you know that I get severely carsick!) and we had lunch at the center house. I was assigned Cameron and his GIRLFRIEND Penny! She is the absolute cutest little thing and I'm very glad that I was able to spend that time with them. We all had a great time - even Natalie! Unfortunately, she was unable to attend the field trip but Nona came down the night before and spent the night. While we were on the field trip, Nona and Nattie went to get their nails done (this was her second time this month - SPOILED!). They went to lunch after their nails too. Natalie had SUCH a great time and never felt left out - THANK YOU NONA!! The next day was the last day of school before break. Cameron's class had a Holiday party and I was able to volunteer for that too!! While I was helping in Cam's class, Natalie went over to TuTu and Dougie's house to hang out and play. I feel so much love and support and couldn't be more thankful for all the help - THANK YOU TUTU and DOUGIE!
The first weekend of December was completely dedicated to my sweet cousin Lia. SHE GOT MARRIED!!! The wedding was amazing and went off without a hitch. She was the most beautiful bride and had fun the entire day - which in return, lets everyone else relax and have fun! I am so happy for Lia and Brian and wish them happiness and love. I am so honored that I was a part of the big day - and was asked to stand by your side. I love you.
We were able to follow our tradition of the Christmas trains downtown with Kate (So glad it worked out!) The kids had such a great time exploring downtown, riding the monorail, seeing the gingerbread houses and the teddy bear suit! Ryan was able to come this year because we now have to do this tradition on the weekend! It was a cold, wonderful day and I can't wait until next year!
Christmas was amazing this year. We had the opportunity to celebrate with both of our families and had a really great time. I think the best part of Christmas this year was the SNOW!!!!! Holy Moly!! It was absolutely magical! I will always remember how cozy, relaxing and sweet our Christmas was this year. I am thankful for everyone in our lives.
I'm going to sign off here - my last blog of 2017. I hope everyone had an amazing year like we did. I look forward to 2018 and wish everyone HAPPINESS, LOVE and HEALTH in the new year. HUGS!!
