Hi everyone! What a wonderful September we had this year! It was full of birthday celebrations, back to school, playdates and soccer. Not to mention the weather was AMAZING! We are ready for October and are looking forward to chilly weather and football season.
We officially have a 5 year old girl in our house! On the 4th, Natalie turned 5 years old - I CANNOT BELIEVE my baby is this old. She is the sweetest, most loving little girl I've ever met and I'm so thankful she is mine. She loved every second of being celebrated and was grateful for every balloon, every present, every call and every card. We kept it super simple this year and decided we would have a little playdate with a couple of her closest friends. We played at Lake Wilderness Park and enjoyed YUMMY cupcakes! It was laid back and wonderful.
Natalie's actual birthday was on the 1st day of school for Cameron. Natalie was sad that Cameron left in the morning, but enjoyed a pedicure and lunch with her bestie Annastynn! She was all smiles - especially when we picked up Cameron and daddy and headed to ice cream! I would consider this one of my favorite birthdays that either of the kids have had.
Cameron is in 1st grade now and is LOVING it!! He transitioned from summer to school very easy this year and looks forward to going everyday. He is in class with a couple buddies from Kindergarten and has already made several new friends! Cameron is enjoying recess (of course), music and PE. The kids just started their Art classes in October and we are looking forward to seeing he creations! Cameron's reading is continuing to excel and it's insane to listen to him figure out words by himself. In October, Cameron will be starting spelling tests every Friday - SUCH A BIG KID!
Natalie started her very last year of Preschool in fall. She is going to school in the afternoons, 4 times a week! So far she is loving going almost everyday and looks forward to the art and books in school. Soon she will be starting her sight words (she already knows 22!!) This little girl is so ready for Kindergarten next year. I'm sure going to miss my little side kick when she is in full time school!
Both kids are enjoying soccer this fall. Cameron is in a new league - MOD soccer and is rising to the occasion of the competitiveness. All the kids on his team and aggressive and want to play - SO REFRESHING! It is beyond fun to watch them play together. It's like these boys have been playing together for years. Natalie is actually playing soccer this year too!! I can't believe I just wrote that! She decided that she would try "Kids Love Soccer" instead of playing actual soccer games. The clinic is great because it is teaching her the fundamentals of soccer and how to properly play. She has participated in 3 clinics so far and seems to be building her confidence. And of course she has already met a buddy - Allie!
Everyone is doing really well and we are thankful fall is going smooth so far. We made a huge decision and decided to sell both our van and the GTI. We thought now is a great time to upgrade our vehicle - WE BOUGHT A NEW CAR! We welcomed a Dodge Durango to the family! It's so much fun to drive - I feel absolutely spoiled to be driving it! The kids are loving it and it seems to be a perfect fit for our family. Hopefully this SUV lasts as long as the GTI and van did for us.
